Our elite global Private Equity client is seeking to recruit a highly experienced Attorney to execute transactions, manage complex deal activity and serve as the key legal advisor and strategic business partner to fund  senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute transactions, manage complex deal activity and serve as the key legal advisor and strategic business partner to fund senior leadership
  • Provide hands-on support for a variety of legal matters including, but not limited to, fund formation, portfolio company governance, divestitures, M&A transactions and co-investments
  • Review, draft and negotiate limited partnership agreements, side letters, fund formation documents and other related investor documents
  • Work closely with investment deal teams, operations, compliance, tax, and external counsel to ensure effective and efficient transaction execution
  • Lead and manage PE transactions from investment sourcing through deal closing
  • Provide legal advise on regulatory matters, risk management and investment structures
  • Provide legal advise to portfolio companies including, but not limited to, management incentive plans, corporate governance and transaction exit strategies
  • Assist with legal department best practices, process improvements and process automation projects

Requirements:

  • 8+ years providing legal and strategic business advise on complex private equity transactions
  • Legal expertise with fund formation and M&A transaction execution from a top-tier global law firm or alternative investment platform
  • Significant experience advising private equity sponsors and institutional investors
  • Ability to manage complex transactions in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Expertise with fund formation, portfolio management, transaction exit strategies and the private equity transaction lifecycle
  • Advanced negotiation, document drafting and transaction management skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • JD and NY State Bar membership, in good standing

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new investment opportunities, make investment recommendations and monitor existing alternative asset investments across the firm’s private equity and co-investment portfolio
  • Evaluate a variety of investment opportunities across private equity, opportunistic credit, real estate, venture capital and infrastructure
  • Recommend investment opportunities based on fundamental analysis
  • Monitor existing portfolio investments and conduct performance reviews
  • Review legal documents, deal covenants and deal structures to asses investment value and risk
  • Interact with sell side, buyside and ratings analysts
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, GPs and other key internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of private equity or credit investment analysis experience
  • Fundamental experience analyzing complex financial data and corporate financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of alternative investment, private equity and co-investment strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation and business writing skills

Our elite global Law Firm client is seeking to recruit a Business Development Coordinator to support sophisticated client-facing business development with a heavy focus on RFP and pitch development in a high-volume, fast-paced transactional environment (Global Private Equity).  The coordinator will work directly with the Global Head of the firm’s Private Equity practice, partners and firm clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support sophisticated client-facing business development with a heavy focus on RFP and pitch development in a high-volume, fast-paced transactional environment (Global Private Equity)
  • Work directly with partners and firm clients
  • Assist with business development, marketing and strategic planning with a primary focus on driving business growth objectives
  • Assist with the execute strategic plans for the Senior Partner/Global Head of Private Equity practice
  • Analyze and report on progress of all marketing objectives
  • Provide hands-on marketing and business development support including the preparation of pitches, proposals, RFPs/RFIs, and marketing collateral
  • Assist with awards, rankings and the directory submission process
  • Work with colleagues to coordinate and administer events, speaking engagements, sponsorship and thought leadership initiatives
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence Group to obtain and analyze client, prospective client and market research to identify business development opportunities and competitive advantages
  • Create and distribute of marketing collateral and thought leadership pieces
  • Assist internal communications team with the award submission process
  • Manage department database updates, practice and subject matter descriptions, website, biographies, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of pitch and RFP development in the legal, financial services or business consulting/professional services industry
  • Demonstrated business development judgement, process ownership ability and adaptability in a high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated level or readiness and energy required to thrive in a fast-paced, pressure filled environment
  • Exposure to Private Equity is desirable
  • Highly motivated with a keen interest in developing a long-term career in legal business development and marketing
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to process and summarize complex information required
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and achieve measurable results
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a high pressure and often stressful corporate environment
  • Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
