Our elite global Alternative Investment Fund client is seeking to recruit an Investment Associate to be a key member of the investment team investing across a variety of specialty finance, asset-backed, structured and esoteric asset classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, negotiate, finance and close investment opportunities across a variety across a variety of specialty finance, asset-backed, structured and esoteric asset classes
  • Perform investment research, financial modeling, transaction underwriting, valuation analysis and deal due diligence
  • Assist with business plan development for various investment opportunities
  • Develop investment ideas, write investment memos and create presentations for the investment committee
  • Assist with legal documentation and deal closings
  • Interact frequently with portfolio company management
  • Support post-close efforts including add-on M&A transactions, management reporting, portfolio company growth objectives, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with capital raising initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Assist with ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic standing
  • 2-3 years of structured finance investment banking or lateral investment analysis experience (targeting 2023-2024 undergrads)
  • Experience with Esoteric ABS, ABS Securitization, Structured Finance, Leverage Finance, FIG investment banking or Transportation banking (rail, aircraft, etc.) transactions required
  • Advanced financial modeling, transaction underwriting and valuation analysis required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, business writing and relationship management skills
  • Highly motivated, intellectually curious and creative with strong critical thinking skills
  • Travel required

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an investment generalist to identify, source and evaluate investment opportunities across the capital structure, alternative asset classes and industry sectors
  • Execute cross-platform business operational and strategic platform growth initiatives
  • Analyze incoming deal flow and create presentation materials highlighting investment research and making actionable investment recommendations
  • Perform deal sourcing, capital structure analysis, valuations, complex modeling, structuring and due diligence
  • Build complex financial models and perform capital structure analysis and incorporate analysis into business projections
  • Provide marketing and business development support including developing relevant materials and presentations for current and prospective investors and internal stakeholders
  • Provide support to the corporate strategy team and various investment teams
  • Perform ad hoc duties and special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic achievement
  • 2-4 years of lateral alternative investing or investment banking experience
  • Keen interest in working in a hybrid investing and strategy role
  • Advanced technical financial skills is a critical requirement: financial modeling, capital structure analysis, valuations, due diligence, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to serve in a hybrid investment generalist and corporate development execution role, working across investment strategies and the entire capital structure
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Highly motivated, driven and intellectually curious with exceptional work ethic

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, drive and own the investment process from origination through execution for a specialized investment team that invests and executes strategic initiatives across the capital structure, asset classes and industry sectors
  • Lead the analysis and execution of incoming deal flow and investment opportunities across the fund platform
  • Source, structure and drive transaction valuation and due diligence from origination to close
  • Evaluate, lead and manage resources for complex, esoteric and ad-hoc deal flow and strategic initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic record; MBA/CFA a plus
  • 6+ years of alternative investing or investment banking experience with demonstrated capital structure analysis expertise across asset classes and industry sectors
  • Fundamental knowledge of alternative asset classes: private equity, private credit, opportunistic credit, special situations, hybrid capital, etc.
  • Advanced financial technical skills: capital structure analysis, financial modeling, valuation analysis
  • Highly motivated creative thinker with the ability to solve complex problems in a time sensitive environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to delegate and work autonomously while managing competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and business writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams across the platform and influence key stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading and executing end-to-end transactions
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring junior team members
