Our elite global Alternative Investment Fund client is seeking to recruit Senior Growth Equity & Venture Capital Investor to oversee direct investments, portfolio construction and manager selection for the firm’s advisory platform, providing investment advise and public/private market access to family offices, UHNW individuals and families and institutional investor clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze and lead direct investments in growth equity companies and venture capital for the firm’s advisory clients
  • Collaborate with senior firm stakeholders to identify, analyze and underwrite elite growth equity and venture capital fund managers
  • Develop and manage diversified growth equity and venture capital fund portfolios that align with client objectives
  • Assist with defining fund and direct investment standards for the advisory platform
  • Oversee investment benchmarking, risk analysis and performance monitoring across the growth equity and venture capital portfolio
  • Lead deal structuring and negotiations for direct investments
  • Perform in-depth fund manager due diligence
  • Conduct company-level due diligence including market analysis, valuations, management team due diligence and business model analysis
  • Perform disciplined cross-sector capital allocation
  • Advise family offices, UHNW individuals and families and institutional investor advisory clients on growth equity and venture capital direct investment opportunities
  • Serve as a hands-on individual contributor while playing a lead role in building out and leading a robust investment team supporting the firm’s long-term advisory platform growth strategy
  • Lead portfolio reviews and analysis and make long-term capital allocation recommendations
  • Collaborate with investment teams and senior leadership across the firm on client coverage and portfolio construction initiatives
  • Analyze and execute co-investment and secondary investment opportunities with select managers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GPs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • 10+ years of hands-on direct and fund of funds growth equity and venture capital investing experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with diversified portfolio construction, manager selection and direct investing
  • Well established relationships with elite growth equity and venture capital fund managers
  • Hands-on with broad technical skills and the ability to operated effectively in a fast-paced and newly created advisory platform
  • Demonstrated ability to help define investment standards and frameworks and build a solid team culture
  • Experience working at a similar investment platform – family office, institutional allocator, secondaries platform, asset manager, fund of funds, etc.
  • Proven track record leading direct growth equity and venture capital investments and/or evaluating and investing in growth equity and venture capital fund managers
