Our elite global Alternative Investment Fund client is seeking to recruit a VP Product Management to serve as a “generalist” direct lending/private credit subject matter expert (SME) acting as the chief liaison between  the investment team and firm’s direct lending and private credit institutional investor clients, supporting product development, product management and business development objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a “generalist” direct lending/private credit subject matter expert (SME) acting as the chief liaison between the investment team and firm’s direct lending and private credit institutional investor clients, supporting product development, product management and business development objectives
  • Oversee product positioning, conduct market research and create content various private credit strategies and vehicles including CLOs, rated notes, BDCs and SMAs
  • Collaborate closely with investment teams to refine and tweak product structures to better align with client requirements
  • Remain consistent and aware of the private credit competitive landscape including market conditions and product trends
  • Develop and recommend commercial insights to support strategic account planning, business development/sales objectives and fundraising initiatives
  • Create fundraising and marketing materials, pitchbooks, RFPs and DDQs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the firm’s private credit/direct lending strategies with investors
  • Author market commentary, develop thought leadership pieces and external communications content to increase the firm’s brand awareness
  • Collaborate with teams across the firm to ensure effortless execution of new products
  • Maintain and develop data management processes and systems for content libraries, investor pipelines and diligence trackers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6+ years of private credit / direct lending product management, business development, fundraising, capital raising or investor relations experience
  • Advanced research and analytical skills
  • Subject matter experience of private credit / direct lending strategies
  • Knowledge of various alternative investment strategies such as hybrid capital, real estate credit and asset-based lending strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and communicate strategies with sophisticated institutional investors
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, presentation and business writing skills
  • Highly motivated and detail oriented with the proven ability to thrive in a lean and fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate middle market corporate loans, senior secured direct lending investments and private credit backed loan portfolios
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to assess collateral, cash flow, loan portfolio stress testing, and credit structures
  • Author and publish credit research focused on corporate portfolio finance, direct lending, and the structured credit markets

  • Standout candidates will have a mix of investment banking transaction execution and alternative investment fund business development/investor relations experience
