Title Professional Development Manager – Elite Law Firm

Our elite global Law Firm client is seeking to recruit a Professional Development Manager to collaborate with practice and firm leadership in developing, implementing and overseeing professional development, onboarding, Associate attorney engagement, performance management and staffing/utilization objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with practice and firm leadership in developing, implementing and overseeing professional development, onboarding, Associate attorney engagement, performance management and staffing/utilization objectives
  • Develop relationships with individual Associates identify strengths and understand career goals and professional development needs
  • Build relationships with partners and serve as a trusted advisor to meet professional development, staffing and practice morale objectives
  • Identify and recommend resources to meet professional development requirements
  • Work closely with colleagues across various teams to support practice objectives
  • Oversee the performance management evaluation process for Associates including but not limited to, soliciting feedback, conducting face-to-face meetings and preparing written performance reviews
  • Collaborate with partners and practice leadership on staffing and utilization initiatives ensuring Associates are exposed to a variety of matters and partners while meeting client needs
  • Identify, develop and manage various training programs
  • Coordinate staffing and work assignments across multiple practice groups as necessary
  • Oversee and track Associate vacation schedules to ensure proper staffing to meet client needs
  • Compile weekly status reports for practice leaders and partners
  • Evaluate and organize team building activities and practice events
  • Complete special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • JD preferred
  • 5+ years of professional development experience with demonstrated staffing and staff utilization experience
  • Prior law firm professional development experience strongly preferred, but will consider candidates with a JD or prior legal practice experience coming from the consulting or education industry
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and managing professional development and training programs
  • Ability to thrive in a demanding fast-paced professional services environment
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Highly motived and outgoing with proven ability to interact with and influence people effectively
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as required
  • Some travel required
  • 4 days in office, 1 day remote schedule

Our elite global Professional Services client is seeking to recruit an Associate Director Alumni Engagement to manage the alumni engagement team, manage department operations, oversee and manage the global alumni database and collaborate with partners and key stakeholders across practice groups and offices on alumni outreach strategies, content development and promotional objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the alumni engagement team, day-to-day department operations and the global alumni database
  • Collaborate with partners, practice group leaders and other key stakeholders on alumni outreach strategies, content development and promotional objectives
  • Identify and execute alumni outreach opportunities
  • Oversee and manage content on the alumni website and the bi-annual alumni publication
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and editing teams on content for publication
  • Work with professional development and continuing education teams on expanded career development offerings for alumni
  • Analyze and report on metrics measuring engagement and succuss of the alumni relations program
  • Track alumni referrals and job movement
  • Develop strategic plans and goal setting for the team
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm on knowledge sharing, best practices and brainstorming
  • Oversee, manage and forecast the department budget
  • Coach and mentor department staff
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Interview, hire and train new staff members
  • Participate in special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of professional services or legal industry alumni engagement/relations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, mentoring and professionally evaluating junior staff
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly matrixed global environment
  • Budgeting, forecasting and department management experience
  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Creative problem solving mindset
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as required
