Our elite Financial Services client is seeking to recruit a Senior Credit Analyst to analyze a portfolio of complex global institutional real estate funds, real estate operating companies and corporate-level unsecured REIT debt.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze a portfolio of complex global institutional real estate funds, real estate operating companies and corporate-level unsecured REIT debt
• Lead credit committee meetings with investors, company senior management, investment bankers and other key market stakeholders
• Author and publish comprehensive credit research highlighting credit determinations and capital and property level market trends
• Monitor risk, funding commitments, company’s access to capital and overall financing strategies
• Conduct ongoing surveillance of portfolio creditworthiness
• Monitor and update financial models
• Utilize and incorporate third-party research and market data into credit research and analysis
• Provide mentorship, coaching and analytical oversite for junior credit analysts

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10+ years of experience analyzing complex commercial real estate funds and REITs
• Strong analytical skills including demonstrated experience analyzing complex financial statements
• Fundamental knowledge of commercial real estate financing strategies and capital markets
• Fundamental accounting knowledge including IFRS standards, fair market value calculations and US GAAP standards
• Advanced financial modeling and property level valuation skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel
• Demonstrated knowledge of various REIT structures
• Demonstrated knowledge of capital expenditure requirements, property types, lease structures and expense ratios
• Strong communication, presentations, business writing and relationship management skills
• Highly motivated, detail oriented and deadline driven

Our global Investment Management client is seeking to recruit an experienced Investment Analyst to evaluate fixed income private placement investment opportunities and to conduct credit research in the REIT sector and recommend investment grade and high yield corporate bond investments consistent with portfolio strategy and return objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate fixed income private placement investment opportunities and to conduct credit research in REIT sector and recommend investment grade and high yield corporate bond investments consistent with portfolio strategy and return objectives
• Perform fundamental credit research and make actionable investment recommendations to traders and portfolio managers
• Author credit research reports highlighting investment analysis and investment risk potential
• Analyze and monitor existing portfolio investments and make updated recommendations based on market conditions, financial news, geopolitical activities, rating agency analysis and other market and industry factors
• Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers and senior management to exchange ideas and industry sector developments
• Interact frequently with key market participants including company executives, sell side analysts, rating agency analysts and other credit market stakeholders
• Assist with internal process improvements and best practices
• Perform ad hoc projects as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of public or private credit research or investment analysis experience
• Private placement investing and REIT sector coverage experience strongly preferred
• Prior REIT credit analysis experience at a rating agency is a plus
• Advance knowledge of fixed income markets and investment grade and high yield corporate bonds
• Broad knowledge of private placement investing
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to analyze and synthesize complex financial data and draw cogent investment recommendations
• Strong financial analysis skills with demonstrated ability to analyze corporate financial statements
• Ability to interact with key stakeholders and influence decision making
