Our elite global Law Firm client is seeking to recruit a Risk Management Attorney to perform risk analysis and evaluate and resolve legal and ethical conflicts of interest during the new business intake process. This role is fully remote, but the incumbent must live in the Dallas, Denver or Houston metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
- Perform risk analysis and evaluate and resolve legal and ethical conflicts of interest during the new business intake process
- Analyze conflicts, draft analysis and define resolutions to avoid conflicts of interest
- Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers and other related memoranda and documentation
- Utilize internal and external databases and information sources
- Build ethical walls as needed
- Perform electronic legal research
- Analyze SEC documents, corporate affiliations, public records, sanctions and other related documentation
- Assist the Director of Business Intake with special projects
- Perform conflict analysis for lateral attorney hires
- Assist with reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts
- Assist Conflicts team with searches as needed
- Assist in evaluating new technologies for the Business Intake team
- Evaluate complex data for potential inconsistencies
- Assist internal stakeholders with questions surrounding conflicts of interest, the new business intake process and conflicts with lateral hiring
- Assist with updating and maintaining team processes and procedures
- Provide weekend and off hour coverage as needed
Requirements:
- JD required
- Bar admission required
- 3+ years of risk management, conflicts and business intake legal experience
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, analyze and mitigate risks and to manage the legal and ethical conflicts of interest process during the new business intake process
- Demonstrated ability to collect, consume and analyzed large complex data sets
- Ability to manage and prioritize the workload
- Sound judgement and decision making skills
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and business writing skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Experience with Intapp risk management applications
