Our international Law Firm client is seeking to recruit a Media Relations Manager to manage a team of communications specialists, lead the awards and rankings submission process and oversee global media strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and mentor a staff of four media relations and communications specialists
- Plan, coordinate and implement global media relations and external communications strategy
- Coach and prepare attorneys for interviews and media interactions
- Manage the firm’s awards, rankings and directory submissions process
- Oversee firm positioning, strategic messaging and the evaluation of new directory opportunities
- Develop KPIs and track media coverage and external communication performance
- Collaborate effectively with global marketing, content and communications colleagues to ensure consistent firmwide messaging
- Champion best practices with all integrated marketing communications delivery
- Work closely with digital marketing department to promote the firm’s increased use of social and digital media
- Interact closely with third-party marketing / media agencies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; J.D. strongly preferred
- Management / supervisory experience required
- Deep and trusted legal and business media relationships (journalists, editors, reporters, bloggers, etc.)
- Awards, rankings and directory submissions process leadership experience required
- International law firm, professional services or financial services media relations and communications strategy experience required
- Advanced writing, editing and research skills
- Advanced legal content development and digital media experience
- Motivated, detail oriented and focused
