Our boutique Family Office client is seeking to recruit a junior Investment Analyst (2-4 years of restructuring investment banking/consulting experience or forensic accounting experience) to analyze complex distressed and high-risk fixed income investment opportunities across various asset classes. CFA designation is required.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze complex distressed and high-risk fixed income investment opportunities across various asset classes
- Actively participate in the investment recommendation process
- Perform cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, capital structure and financial statement analysis
- Review and analyze legal documentation
- Work closely with the Senior Analyst and firm Partners to evaluated and recommend investment opportunities that deliver maximum performance results
- Build relationships with key industry professionals to gain market knowledge and influence investment decisions
- Research and analyze market trends, economic and financial market data
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- CFA required (Level I, Level II or Level III)
- 2-4 years of financial restructuring, capital structure analysis and/or forensic accounting experience at an investment bank, Big 4 consultancy or financial restructuring focused consulting firm
- Ability and willingness to take on a leadership role
- Demonstrated financial modeling skills, particularly DCF modeling
- Ability to analyze financial statements and perform balance sheet and cash flow analysis
- Advanced proficiency with Excel
- Knowledge of US Bankruptcy Code preferred
- Experience analyzing legal documents preferred
- Self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision
- Critical thinker with the ability synthesize key information
- Mature, motivated and detail oriented with the ability to work autonomously
- Highly effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others
- Forensic accounting experience preferred
