Our global Capital Markets client is seeking to recruit an experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and execution support for a variety of mortgage securitization and real estate/mortgage securities transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide sound legal advice and execution support for mortgage securitization initiatives and real estate capital markets transactions
- Provide deal structuring and closing legal support
- Draft, negotiate and execute complex mortgage securities and capital markets transactions and disclosure documents
- Work closely with business line management to provide capital markets, mortgage securities law and securitization advice that may affect business line and firm-wide operations
- Interact frequently with securities regulators
- Participate in industry roundtables and events
- Collaborate closely with external counsel as needed
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor with 4+ years’ legal experience with real estate capital markets and mortgage securitization transactions
- State Bar membership in good standing (Virginia preferred, but not required)
- Broad knowledge of federal securities regulations
- Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating and executing complex mortgage securities and real estate capital markets transactions and disclosure documents
- Analyze securities and securitization market regulations and policies and provide business management with relevant legal advice
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and business presentation skills
- Advance project management skills
