Our elite global Law Firm client is seeking to recruit a Conflicts Attorney with experience clearing conflicts for lateral/incoming lawyers and professional staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the conflicts clearance process for lateral/incoming lawyers and professional staff
- Collaborate with attorneys firmwide to resolve conflicts issues and advise on lateral ethical screens and waivers if required
- Review and analyze conflicts questionnaires provided by incoming lawyers and professional staff and communicate with candidates when seeking clarifications
- Work closely with human resources, attorney recruiters and staff recruiters to manage the conflicts clearance process and meet lateral hiring timelines
- Proactively respond to candidate inquiries during the conflicts clearance process
- Work closely with partners regarding complex conflicts processes
- Assist with drafting engagement letters and waivers for new business intake clearances as requested
- Become a subject matter expert with conflicts rules for specific practice groups
- Assist in developing department procedures and best practices
- Develop, review and maintain records for all conflicts resolutions, communications and related matters
Requirements:
- J.D. required
- 2+ years experience as a practicing attorney
- Demonstrated experience working in a conflicts department with specific experience clearing conflicts for lateral new hires (lawyers and professional staff)
- Highly motivated and organized with a high attention to detail
- Technical proficiency with MS Office
- Experience with conflicts clearing and ethical screening systems preferred
- Advance project management skills with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines
